Baltic Fleet

BALTIC FLEET is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist and DIY producer Paul Fleming. Whilst still a member of Echo & the Bunnymen Paul Fleming mostly recorded his self-titled debut album on the road with the band, with some additional production in London and Liverpool on signing to Blow Up Records. A further two highly acclaimed albums Towers, The Dear One have also been released by Blow Up Records and an EP was released in 2018 Rolling In Oceans Tide just ahead of a rare live performance from the band at the Blow Up 25 event at the 100 Club London.

Baltic Fleet have secured music placements with TV, Film and trailers around the world including with Top Gear (BBC) ,The Grand Tour (Amazon), BT Sport, BBC Sport, and have soundtracked trailers for the likes of Sony Playstation (Little Big Planet), Vice TV (Canada). Baltic Fleet was nominated for a best TV sync at the Music Week Sync Awards (for Top Gear).

BALTIC FLEET (2008) debut album: Album of the Year (No 29) for Rough Trade Shops who described it as “A faultless piece of instrumental music that captures the spirit of Eno, NEU! all the way through to modern post-rock and chamber music”.

Towers (2012): Rough Trade Shops ‘Towers’ Album Of The Week and an Album Of The Month: “Immense. Fleming has upped the ante on an already stellar debut” . The NME referred to Towers’  “Exceptional motorik beats” whilst Subba-Cultcha described the album as “A sublimely cinematic blend of kosmische musik, dream pop”and Prog as a “Haunting electronic elegy for post-industrial Britain”. The album appeared in end of year polls including Vive Le RockCrack MagazineLouder Than War“A wonderfully well rounded and complete album” and The Liverpool Echo who described it as “One of the finest records from Liverpool in years”.
