The Sea Urchins
The Sea Urchins were formed in West Bromwich in 1986 and are seen as a classic indie pop band of the era. Blow Up Songs represents the majority of the songs of The Sea Urchins that were written by two of the bands members, James Roberts and Patrick Roberts for the world.
James Roberts songs including The Sea Urchins indie pop classic Pristine Christine, the song that launched Sarah Records, considered one of the defining tracks of the C86 scene. Whilst, his song Please Fall The Rain was made NME Single Of The Week by Bob Stanley (as was ‘Pristine Christine’) on its release.
Blow Up Songs represents the majority of Patrick Roberts songs for The Sea Urchins including ‘Time Is All I’ve Seen’.
Following the demise of The Sea Urchins James Roberts and Patrick Roberts were members of Delta, their songs for which are also published by Blow Up Songs along with James’s later releases as a solo artist.
